St. Louis, Missouri | April 16, 2026 – YWCA Metro St. Louis has been selected by Cigna Healthcare® as a recipient of the 2025 Silver Level Healthy Workforce Designation™. This marks the fourth consecutive year YWCA Metro St. Louis has earned the recognition — achieving Bronze level in 2022 and 2023, and Silver level in 2024 and 2025.
The designation recognizes organizations that demonstrate a strong, ongoing commitment to employee well-being. At YWCA Metro St. Louis, that commitment is brought to life each year through an employee-led Wellness Club that takes a whole-person approach to staff health across six dimensions: physical, emotional, social, financial, spiritual, and intellectual wellness. This year’s initiatives ranged from heart health and sleep awareness programming to gratitude journaling, a wellness book club, participation in the Sista Strut Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, and a financial wellness partnership with Commerce Bank.
At YWCA Metro St. Louis, caring for the people we serve starts with caring for the people on our team. Our staff show up every day for survivors, families, and community members navigating some of life’s hardest moments — and supporting their own well-being is not an afterthought. It is central to how we fulfill our mission.
“At YWCA Metro St. Louis, we know that the strength of our mission begins with the strength of our team,” said Anitra Cole, PHR, SHRM-CP, Chief Human Resources Officer. “Earning this designation for the fourth consecutive year is a reflection of the dedication our staff brings not only to the people we serve, but to each other. We are proud of the culture of care we continue to build together, and we are grateful to Cigna Healthcare for this recognition.”
Research from the Evernorth Vitality Index finds that employees with higher vitality report better mental and physical health, stronger job satisfaction, and more productive working relationships — outcomes that align directly with YWCA Metro St. Louis’s mission to empower every person to be safe, supported, and heard.
“Employers that prioritize workforce vitality — by addressing workplace stress, promoting healthy behaviors, and fostering a sense of competence, autonomy, and connection — are supporting employee well-being and driving organizational success,” said Bryan Holgerson, President of Cigna Healthcare U.S. “We’re proud to recognize and celebrate employers who are building cultures of well-being across all dimensions of vitality.”
